Riga – Pearl of the Baltic
Senator Meetings & Incentives organised a three-day stay in the Latvian capital of Riga for one of its clients. The largest Baltic city rightfully bears the moniker Pearl of the Baltic. In winter, Riga is warm and charming. The city boasts pleasant strolls along the majestic Daugava, spectacular architecture of the Old Town, a plethora of traditional cafes and pubs, and smiling, friendly inhabitants.
The stay was enlivened with a trip to nearby Sigulda, where participants had the chance to try the only Olympic bobsleigh track in Latvia or visit the secret Soviet atomic bunker in Ligatne, one of the biggest in the territory of the former Soviet Union and one that not even the inhabitants of the surrounding villages had been aware of until recently.
The excursion into the past was topped off with a tour of the Riga Radio and TV Tower, the tallest tower in the European Union, and a visit to the former KGB headquarters in Riga, which left everyone with a strong and unforgettable experience and a reminder of the not-so-distant past.
All participants enjoyed their stay despite well below freezing temperatures.
We are confident that Riga was an interesting and appealing incentive destination.
